Recommended Diet & Herbs To Promote Fertility

In Current times there is an increasing number of couples experiencing difficulties while trying to conceive.  It is even sometimes challenging for younger women in their 20’s, who should have no trouble conceiving.  It is no secret that diet plays a crucial part in healthy reproduction and I have compiled below a list of super-foods that will help promote fertility…

Bananas: Each one is packed with vitamin B6, which regulates the hormones and is needed for good egg and sperm development.

Citrus Fruits: Lemons, Oranges and Limes – they’re all packed with vitamin C, which improves sperm quality and stops them clumping together.

Brussels Sprouts: They contain Folic Acid and are filled with vitamins and nutrients that help women absorb balanced levels of oestrogen.

Sunflower Seeds: Packed with zinc – the most important mineral for Male and Female fertility.

Almonds: They contain Vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that helps protect the DNA in both sperm and eggs.

Chicken: Protein is really important for your egg production and gram for gram, chicken is a great source.

Carrots: Filled with carotenoids that give carrots their colour, this vegetable is ideal for boosting your conception chances.

Tomatoes: Packed full of nutrient called lycopene, which has been found to boost sperm count up to 70% and increase swimming speed.

Dark chocolate: It contains amino acid that has been proven to double sperm and  semen volume and is also filled with antioxidants.

Garlic: Contains  allicin which improves blood flow to his sexual organs and protects sperm from damage.  Also contains Selenium, an antioxidant that improves sperm quality.

Oysters: Is bursting with Zinc, which is crucial for conception.

Eggs: Contains Vitamin D , thought to help increase fertility levels in women

Mackerel: Bursting with fatty acids that keep your reproductive system strong and your partners cholesterol levels low.

Asparagus: Is filled with folic acid, which has been found to reduce the risk of ovulation issues.

What is not as well known is that herbs can also be extremely beneficial with promoting fertility and reproduction.  Very often it is a straight forward and simple process to aid the establishment of conception using these time tested and safe plants to balance the female hormones.

Herbs that increase fertility are also useful for nourishing the body and female reproductive system which in turn induces relaxation of the entire nervous system, thereby facilitating conception.  Doctors will often tell women that are trying to conceive then she just “needs to relax” and although this is a frustrating comment to hear, fertility promoting herbs might help you do just that!

Below I have listed the Top 2 fertility herbs for fast and easy conception:

Stinging Nettle

Nettle is a favourite all around fertility herb. Not only does it tone and nourish the uterus, it also promotes strengthening of the kidneys and adrenal glands.  If you are or have ever been a coffee drinker, this herb is for you!

One, two, or even more cups per day of Nettle Tea,  which is also loaded with chlorophyll (a detoxifier) for several months goes a long way toward preparing a woman’s body for pregnancy and for sustaining the embryo once conception occurs.

Nettle Tea is also fantastic in preparing for the baby’s birth as it is extremely high in Vitamin K, which allows the Mother to safely skip the newborn vitamin k shot knowing that her newborn baby’s blood will already contain an ample amount. Oral vitamin K is another excellent option to the toxic laden shot.

Continuing to drink nettle tea while breastfeeding promotes successful lactation and a copious milk supply as well! A nettle infusion also helps with allergy relief from seasonal pollen issues as a bonus because it is a potent, natural anti-histamine.

Red Clover

Red Clover is an excellent fertility herb primarily due to the high amounts of calcium and magnesium. These two minerals are believed to be of high importance in affecting a woman’s ability to conceive.

Red clover contains every single trace element needed by the glandular system.   As such, this alkalizing herb is probably the single most effective plant used for balancing of the hormones needed for conception to take place.    Balancing the body acid/alkaline PH, and thereby, the uterus PH, goes a long way toward favoring conception.

Brew your red clover tea along with peppermint or another type of mint if you prefer. This acts as a sexual stimulant. To make a powerful infusion of these herbs in combination, take one ounce of red clover and a teaspoon of peppermint and steep in one quart of hot filtered water for 4 hours. Ensure the lid is tightly fastened to contain the steam.

Drink this mixture as desired once it has cooled down and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

I hope you find this information helpful and I would love to hear how you get on, so please feel free to contact me with your stories…

Lots of Love
